5th Companies Challange Quiz Night
This year’s Quiz Night was held at Badgemore Park Golf Club Thursday 14th May.
This year we only had 5 teams competing due to the credit crunch. Four of the old faithfuls - Mercers Solicitors, Kench & Co, Indigo Rye and Peers Hilton. Then our newcomers this year were Best of Henley.
The teams had to answer a range of questions covering Bonfire Night, Advertising Slogans, Cryptic TV Shows and Creatures of the Night.
The evening was won by the newcomers Best of Henley and for the first time ever the wooden spoons went to Kench & Co.
£450 was raised and the evening was a great success with everyone saying they are already looking forward to next year. Hopefully next year we will have more companies supporting us.
The Charity would sincerely like to thank Mercer Solicitors, Kench & Co, Indigo Rye, Peers Hilton and Best of Henley for coming along and supporting The Face of Henley in these difficult times. Also a huge thanks to Badgemore Park Golf Club and Hugh and John Legh for their support, our fabulous Quiz Master Mr Toby Greenwood and our judges Mr Jeremy Flindall and Mr Mike Moss (our husbands)!!

The Face of Henley Christmas Fayre
The Face of Henley Christmas Fayre 2008 raised a fabulous £4,000.
Organiser Sarah Flindall said: “The attendance was very good and everyone who came spent money, which was great. We had a fantastic range of stalls this year, which helped.”
“The money will go towards helping people in our community, to poor families and single mothers. We are here to try to stop people slipping through the net. We make a lot of small donations to people but quite often these make a big difference to the lives of many.”
She added: “We hope next year’s event will be bigger and better.”
The 2009 Face of Henley Christmas Fayre will be held at the Henley Rugby Club on Thursday 5th November 2009.

The Face of Henley 2007 Christmas Fayre
The Face of Henley Charity enjoyed its best Christmas Fayre ever with just under £4,000 being raised for local individuals and causes.
Dozens of stallholders displayed their wares at the Henley Rugby Club in November 2007. On offer were a wide variety of gifts from suede coats to smoked fish and welly-warmers to beautiful jewellery.
Jane Moss, one of the organisers of the fayre said: “Without the continuing support of local people and businesses we would not be able to continue helping our local Henley Community. All the monies raised benefit worthy individuals and causes within Henley and its surrounding villages.
The Charity would like to thank Cooper Son and Caldecott for sponsoring the hire of the Rugby Club, Mary Worsdell of the Henley Rugby Club for all her assistance, Higgs Printing for the printing of the invitations, Hugh Legh of HDL Audio for his continuing support, Marlene Pearce of Gold Key Designs for the design work, Billy Pinchers for the supply of the tressle tables, the Henley Standard for their ongoing support and Cannelle Beaute for sponsoring the raffle prize of a ‘Top to Toe’ to the value of £120 which was won by Niamh Kendall from Kidmore End. Last but not least to all cake makers and our wonderful friends - Karen T-Y, Amanda, Karen B, Janey, Susan, Fiona, Anne, Kate, Sarah and Marlene who supported us throughout the day.
