Who are the recipients of the fundraising?
A variety of people who live in our community, for example;
Dominic Tritton - In 2002 we made a cash contribution to a local 21 year old law graduate, Dominic Tritton, from Peppard for his fundraising to sponsor his work with Voluntary Service Overseas.
Bill Harris - We also worked towards raising funds for 91 year old Bill Harris, who lived in Henley with his daughter, Edie. His one wish was to visit his fathers grave in France. We were also hoping to raise enough money to be able to donate a motorised wheelchair to replace Bills old manual one in order to make life easier for him and his daughter. A suitable motorised wheelchair had been identified for Bill and the trip to France organised, but sadly, prior to Christmas 2002, Bill passed away.
However, on Friday 25th April 2003, Toby Greenwood, Ken Clark and Timma McKean of The Henley Standard were able take Bills daughter Edie, to fulfil her late fathers dream, to visit her Grand-fathers grave in France.

Julie Maxx - 'The Face of Henley' Charity teamed up with Henley Round Table in June 2003 to donate a car to Julie Maxx, a single mother with a five year old son Tyler, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy and is constantly in and out of hospital. Each charity donated £500 towards a car. Julie referred to her new car as a "lifeline" and sent a huge thank you to the members of both charities. She said: "You've made a mad blonde women very happy!"
